Unit 1- print, self exploration through mark-making

I decided to draw a connection between the subject of myself and the elements and principles of art through expressing aspects of myself through line and colour. It was interesting to observe the choices I made when creating a visual representation of myself.

This was the mind-map I created when drawing up ideas about myself; the parts of my personality that make up me.

I then decided to 'draw' 3 of the most important aspects. I did this from home so had to be resourceful with my tools. I used my toothpick brush to draw the straight lines and sandwich bags to add layers that would normally be provided by tracing paper.

Passionate

Perfectionist
Laidback

I then scanned each layer to my laptop and developed them further on the app 'Pages' by cropping them up and layering them over one another.

Reflection and analysis.
