Unit 1- Print, Andreas Lie Analysis
After researching ink artists, I found Andreas Lie. His work primarily focuses on nature and the way it intersects with human life and I find the way he visually portrays this fascinating. I feel I am particularly drawn to this work as earth and the natural element has always been a part of who I am as a person, and therefore it would be effective to explore this in my work.
This is a collection of images and notes I made when researching Andreas Lie. I was particularly intrigued by the collection of books his work has featured on as I have aimed to explore art in the context of the modern world. Perhaps I could take inspiration from his book design in my future projects.
After researching Andreas and understanding the context of his creations, I felt compelled to recreate his ink drawing. I observed how different movement of line and mark-making can create a completely different effect.

| I created a stencil in the shape of a portrait (bottom left) and experimented with 3 different line movements much like Andreas Lie's (shown below). |
